Secretary Activities
Reviewed and approved the January 2000 boards minutes.
Grounds Review
Discussed repairs needing to be made to the tennis courts. Charlie is getting bids for repairs. Watched a video from a company that called Sports Court. They provide a type of mat that would go on the tennis court. Bruce is going to see if he can find one around Kansas City to look at. At this time it is out of our price range but may be something we could consider in the future.
Charlie will order dumpsters for yard waste to be delivered May 19th, and removed on May 22nd.
Two trees are down in the greenway just south of New Mark drive on the West Side of N. Lydia. Anthony is going to get a bid to remove them.
Anthony and Charlie may request more bids for mowing if the rates go up. Last year we paid $85 for zone 1, $100 for zone 2 and $150 for zone 3 each time they were mowed.
Pool Activity
Karen Aitken, President (734-5463) and Todd Beeck, Vice President (734-5135) of the swim team meet with the board. Swim meets will be held on June 8th, June 22nd and July 6th. They had around 168 team members last year. They had some concerns they brought up with the board. They suggested that maybe we could work together to make some improvements. They would like a new sound system, lights to shine on the south side of the pool into the greenway, shelves and benches in the restrooms, new toilet paper and paper towel holders in the restrooms, mats in the restrooms and more electrical outlets in the cabana.
The board also informed them the members of the home association voted to increase the amount charged per non-home association member family. The new charge will be $35 per family. We also requested that in their mailings they ask for help from visitors to the swim meets to refrain from littering and to park only the East Side of N. Lydia. We also requested a list of all swim team members and addresses.
Financial Review
Talked about moving some of the money from the general money market account to the long-term money market account after the swim season. This would help the long-term fund grow a little faster if we do not have any high unbudgeted expenses this year.
New Business
Bruce suggested setting up a rules committee for meetings. This would be beneficial for the annual Homes Association meeting. Bruce and Bill will serve on this committee.
Bruce also suggested that all board members talk to people in the neighborhood who may not be at the annual meeting to get more proxies for the annual meeting. This would allow more people to have a say in what happens within the association.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:30 PM
The next board meeting will be March 21, 2000 at 7:00 P.M.
